Forgiveness & Putting Love First

Put Love First

THIS STRATEGY, IN AND OF ITSELF, can bring you enough success to last a lifetime. Each time you find yourself stressed and self-absorbed with fear of not being good enough or less than, remember that the people who are frightening you are just wearing a protective coat of armor. The original intention of the armor was to defend them in the ways that they believed would keep them safe. That’s all.

This strategy can help you understand that the attacks people sometimes make are done in the exact same fashion that they received as children. When you see an adult ridiculing or invalidating a child or another adult, quickly move into an understanding that this is a reflection of how they were treated as children. You can immediately see the inner child behind that rough exterior. How you approach this situation, as a result of your new perception, may transmit a message such as, I’m on your side, instead of, I’ll show you who can play tough ball!

In putting love first, you will find that the weapons come down and the steel armor begins to melt. Your ability to forgive increases as you move into an understanding of this person’s bigger picture of past trauma, separation and pain. In releasing judgement about this person’s actions, you can more readily return to putting love first before you do or say anything further.

Peace be with you….

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels,
but have not love,
I am a noisy gong or clanging cymbal.
And if I have prophetic powers,
and understand all mysteries
and all knowledge, and if I have all faith,
so as to move mountains, but have not love,
I am nothing.
Love is patient and kind;
love is not boastful; it is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong,
but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all things.
So faith, hope, love abide, these three;
but the greatest of these
is love.
