Dear Difference Maker, It’s normal to wish for a quick fix with disruptive, behaviorally challenging kids … and I have one for you today ….with conditions. I founded Heart Productions & Publishing – HPP – 25 years ago because I had effective and empowering ways to be successful with ALL children – specifically the 55-65% at-risk youth populations in my classrooms each and every year consistently scoring 2.5-3 years of growth on the Stanford Achievement Test results; and I wanted to make an exponential positive difference with that knowledge.
I did it by dealing with each student social emotional needs in just 9 weeks of every school year and not the other way around i.e. study to learn how to take tests first.
One of the newest inclusions to our offerings here at HPP is a healthy coffee that is infused with mind healing herbs. We are receiving miraculous success experiences daily with children and adults who suffer with focus and energy reactions. It’s a quick fix ... but I want you to also understand that IF you are having problems with de-energizing behavior issues with your loved ones, getting their minds to calm down is certainly a great start, AND being the teacher and educational psychologist that I am, I know it is equally important to learn new ways of effective and empowering connection with those we live with and work with. NOW is the time to put an end to generational legacies of pain and suffering brought on by old school tactics of using sarcasm, shame, humiliation and abandonment to force short term desired behavior. It never did work – it’s just a story we told ourselves – and today’s children are rearing up even more loudly against it than we did!
So, with that said….
