BREAKER LINE

Hey there!

A couple of weeks back, I was rambling on about this fancy thing called Ockham’s Razor. It’s all about finding the simplest solution to a problem. You know, not making things overly complicated and stuff.

Anyway, turns out this principle is pretty handy when it comes to dealing with kids too. Sometimes, the simplest solution is actually the most effective (trust me on this).

Now, let me just take a moment to applaud all the effort being put into finding better ways to work with today’s children. I mean, at last count, 20+ programs being adopted by school districts right now. That’s a lot!

21 programs

But here’s the thing: bigger is not always better. More comprehensive doesn’t always mean immediate success. And let’s not forget about all those activities, strategies and options that can just make your head spin.

As for me, I’ve got my own thing going on. My approach may seem a little unconventional, but it’s actually pretty simple, straightforward and eye opening.

Unleash the Power of the SNOOZE Test:
The Ultimate Guide to Avoiding Complicated Programs

MARY's SNOOZE TEST

So, I’ve got this super scientific test called the SNOOZE test. Basically, if a new program’s directions, activities and everything else make me fall asleep, then it’s a no-go for me.

Can’t have anything too complicated if I want to reach and teach my students, right?

My main goal is building class unity and community through asking conversation starter questions that bring about lively, thought-provoking group discussions to drive social skill development.

I truly believe that the real MVP of education is the leader who can bring a bunch of crazy cats together in the same room (figuratively, of course).

To do that, you gotta know what makes each student tick. And trust me, never be afraid to have a conversation with them, because that’s where the magic happens.

In one chat, you can learn everything you need to know.

Now, let’s talk about my 9 Week Program.

It’s all about using movies and activities as conversation starters.

And the best part?

You don’t have to come up with the questions. I’ve done the heavy lifting for you!

Just keep asking, like you’re a gold miner digging for nuggets.

So, there you have it!

Let’s keep it simple, keep it fun and keep those kids working on talking things through together – as one team – one community.

Here’s we’ve tackled today:

– Ockham’s Razor: the simple solution to kids and their craziness!
– Don’t need 20+ programs, just need one that doesn’t make you snooze.
– Get to know your students, focus on building unity and community through unifying conversation starter movies and activities.

That’s it.   Thanks for being here!
