Nagging builds negative chatter in the minds of those with whom we are venting our feelings. Is this what you want them to hear and remember you by? Is it any surprise that the people you nag choose not to remember what you said or want to be near you? Think about it. What’s it like being with you, anyway? What do you want them to hear inside their heads when they are making future decisions? How does this sound corning from the resources of your mind: “How many thousands of times do I have to tell you how to do this? What’s the matter with you? Can’t you think? Can’t you read?” An alternative to this might be, “Johnny, I know that you can make a wise choice, next time. Johnny, you can do it, you can do it, I know you can do it.” You can preach |
