We are all Eagles. Once we have really taken beautiful flight, we can never go back to live like a chicken. It is not a delusion to think we can fly; it is a delusion to think we can’t. Manage your fear of greatness and then … stretch forth your wings and fly toward the dreams that are awaiting you.

There Are Always Two Options!

IN TEACHING ACCOUNTABILITY, it is necessary to provide opportunities in which there can be “scientific experimentation.” These experiments are often intended to challenge any new rule you may have set for someone. Accept their attempts as trial and error.

To help people become accountable and responsible for their behavior, allow them their failure and provide them with options. They can either do it within the boundaries that you’ve established, or they can do it their way and take consequences for “choosing” to disregard your request.

It’s really as simple as that, as long as you see to it that the consequences are enforced. Allow them the opportunity to grow. Reduce your emotional drain by delighting in their attempts to see if rules really do apply to them.

Have fun with this. Acknowledge them and accept their need to challenge the new.
