It’s up to you. The time to start working with emotionally lit up students isn’t during an explosive episode. The time is now. It’s about learning how – one simple step – one simple class conversation at a time – to create a safe haven for every. single. student. Now you may not like what I’m going to say next, but it all begins with the attitudinal energy of the adult in charge. Students will follow your lead. If you fear or dislike any one child in your classroom, so will they. It’s an energy thing. There is so much you can accomplish in just 9 weeks. It’s not complicated.
