BREAKER LINE

Dear Difference Maker,

If you are an educational administrator, I believe I know some things about you and your current situation…

I know you’re a leader who dreams of dramatically make a positive, self-sustaining difference in the current culture.

Currently, you’re focused on how to re-energize faculty and staff with minimal emotional bandwidth left, to get them across the finish line this year by finding something that is easy and fun (and uncomplicated) for them to get lit up about, right?

So, let me ask you a question…

Would you be ecstatic if you could get people to listen to each other’s creative solution generating ideas and points of views without any drama llamas entering the conversation?

Because, if you could do that, ultimately, that would mean you could model a different mindset about working with students in a more empowering way.

You could provide faculty and staff an easy-to-do, super simple and quick way to create a safe haven for kids to learn how to talk with others in their classroom about their thoughts and feelings.

And the best part of all is that this can be done without having to implement a time-consuming, complicated system that requires you to plan it all out when there is no emotional bandwidth left!! (Which would be amazing!)

Unfortunately, I also get the sense that there are some roadblocks for you here, including figuring out how to have difficult conversations with faculty and staff who are stubbornly standing in front of the bus of much needed change.

Sound familiar?

Another thing…

Are you also really frustrated by the fact that we as a society are entirely too divided and unwilling to listen to other points-of-view? And then we get angry about our children mirroring our frustration back to us!?

Do you find yourself staying away from the teachers lounge because of others talking so disparagingly about parents, students, faculty and staff, and you feel worse coming out than you felt going in?

Do you constantly ask yourself, “How can I do this on my own and still make an exponential difference in the lives of so many that we are losing through the cracks?”

One last question…

Because the district is unwilling or unable to provide the resources and support necessary to make change, do you ever find yourself feeling really frustrated (angry) that individuals won’t just step up to make the needed changes of their own volition!?

I know I did!

And finally, to make matters even worse, sometimes (no matter what you do) it just plain feels like there are far too many individuals who JREDD (Justify, Rationalize, Explain, Defend, Debate) about most things that are asked of them.

It seems like they are actively going out of their way to sabotage your efforts to re-energize teachers with minimal emotional bandwidth left to get them across the finish line this year by giving them something that is easy and fun (and uncomplicated) to get lit up about.

Well let me tell you, I know exactly how you feel because I’ve been there myself… more than once!

When all is said and done, my guess is that you really just want to build an educational environment that is a safe haven for all who enter its doors ... Yes?

If this sounds at all like you, please stay tuned because later this week I’ve got a special offer coming your way.

Reaching out …
